وَإِذ تَقولُ لِلَّذي أَنعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيهِ وَأَنعَمتَ عَلَيهِ أَمسِك عَلَيكَ زَوجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَتُخفي في نَفسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبديهِ وَتَخشَى النّاسَ وَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخشاهُ ۖ فَلَمّا قَضىٰ زَيدٌ مِنها وَطَرًا زَوَّجناكَها لِكَي لا يَكونَ عَلَى المُؤمِنينَ حَرَجٌ في أَزواجِ أَدعِيائِهِم إِذا قَضَوا مِنهُنَّ وَطَرًا ۚ وَكانَ أَمرُ اللَّهِ مَفعولًا
You said to the one whom God had favored and you had favored, “Keep your wife and fear God,” while concealing within yourself what God was going to reveal. You feared people, but it is more appropriate that you fear God. Then, when Zaid had dissolved his marriage with her, We wedded her to you, so that there would be no fault in believers marrying the divorced wives of their adopted sons. God’s command is always fulfilled.
