وَلَو بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزقَ لِعِبادِهِ لَبَغَوا فِي الأَرضِ وَلـٰكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ ما يَشاءُ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِعِبادِهِ خَبيرٌ بَصيرٌ

If God were to expand the provision for His servants, they would commit excess on earth. But He sends down what He wills in measured amounts. He is All-Seeing and All-Aware of His beings.

وَهُوَ الَّذي يُنَزِّلُ الغَيثَ مِن بَعدِ ما قَنَطوا وَيَنشُرُ رَحمَتَهُ ۚ وَهُوَ الوَلِيُّ الحَميدُ

It is He who sends down rain after they have lost hope and spreads His mercy. He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.

وَمِن آياتِهِ خَلقُ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَثَّ فيهِما مِن دابَّةٍ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلىٰ جَمعِهِم إِذا يَشاءُ قَديرٌ

Among His signs are the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the living creatures He has spread within them. And He is capable of gathering them at will.

وَما أَصابَكُم مِن مُصيبَةٍ فَبِما كَسَبَت أَيديكُم وَيَعفو عَن كَثيرٍ

Whatever misfortune befalls you is due to your deeds. Yet, He pardons much.

وَما أَنتُم بِمُعجِزينَ فِي الأَرضِ ۖ وَما لَكُم مِن دونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلا نَصيرٍ

You can’t escape on earth, and you have no protector or helper besides God.

إِن يَشَأ يُسكِنِ الرّيحَ فَيَظلَلنَ رَواكِدَ عَلىٰ ظَهرِهِ ۚ إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَآياتٍ لِكُلِّ صَبّارٍ شَكورٍ

If He willed, He could still the wind, leaving them motionless on its surface. In this, there are signs for every patient, grateful person.

أَو يوبِقهُنَّ بِما كَسَبوا وَيَعفُ عَن كَثيرٍ

Or He could destroy them because of what they’ve earned, yet He pardons much.

وَيَعلَمَ الَّذينَ يُجادِلونَ في آياتِنا ما لَهُم مِن مَحيصٍ

Those who dispute God’s revelations won’t find any refuge.

فَما أوتيتُم مِن شَيءٍ فَمَتاعُ الحَياةِ الدُّنيا ۖ وَما عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيرٌ وَأَبقىٰ لِلَّذينَ آمَنوا وَعَلىٰ رَبِّهِم يَتَوَكَّلونَ

What you’ve been given is merely the enjoyment of the temporal worldly life, but what God possesses is better and more enduring for those who believe and rely on their Lord.

وَالَّذينَ يَجتَنِبونَ كَبائِرَ الإِثمِ وَالفَواحِشَ وَإِذا ما غَضِبوا هُم يَغفِرونَ

Those who avoid grave sins and indecencies; and when they are angered, they forgive.
