The example of those entrusted with the Torah, yet failed to uphold it, is like that of a donkey carrying heavy books. Pitiful is the example of the people who deny God’s revelations. God does not guide wrongdoing people.
Say, “O you who are Jewish, if you claim to be the chosen allies of God, excluding all other people, then wish for death, if you are truthful.”
However, they will never wish for it, because of what their hands have done. God is fully aware of the wrongdoers.
Say, “The death from which you flee will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will inform you of what you used to do.”
O you who believe, when the call to prayer is made on Friday, hurry to the remembrance of God, and leave off business. That’s better for you, if only you knew.
When the prayer is concluded, disperse in the land, seek God’s bounty, and remember God frequently, so you may succeed.
