وَما نَقَموا مِنهُم إِلّا أَن يُؤمِنوا بِاللَّهِ العَزيزِ الحَميدِ

They resented them simply because they believed in God, the Almighty, the Worthy of Praise.

الَّذي لَهُ مُلكُ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ شَهيدٌ

To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. God is ever watchful over everything.

إِنَّ الَّذينَ فَتَنُوا المُؤمِنينَ وَالمُؤمِناتِ ثُمَّ لَم يَتوبوا فَلَهُم عَذابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُم عَذابُ الحَريقِ

Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting, will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.

إِنَّ الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّالِحاتِ لَهُم جَنّاتٌ تَجري مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهارُ ۚ ذٰلِكَ الفَوزُ الكَبيرُ

However, those who believe and do righteous deeds will have gardens through which rivers flow—this is the great success.

إِنَّ بَطشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَديدٌ

Your Lord’s onslaught is severe.

وَهُوَ الغَفورُ الوَدودُ

And He is the Forgiving, the Loving.

ذُو العَرشِ المَجيدُ

The Owner of the majestic throne.

فَعّالٌ لِما يُريدُ

The Doer of whatever He intends.

هَل أَتاكَ حَديثُ الجُنودِ

Did the accounts of the soldiers reach you?

فِرعَونَ وَثَمودَ

Of Pharaoh and Thamud?
