بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمـٰنِ الرَّحيمِ الم
Alif. Lam. Meem.
ذٰلِكَ الكِتابُ لا رَيبَ ۛ فيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِلمُتَّقينَ
This is the Book, beyond any doubt, a guide for the righteous.
الَّذينَ يُؤمِنونَ بِالغَيبِ وَيُقيمونَ الصَّلاةَ وَمِمّا رَزَقناهُم يُنفِقونَ
Those who believe in the unseen, perform the prayer, and spend from what We provide for them.
وَالَّذينَ يُؤمِنونَ بِما أُنزِلَ إِلَيكَ وَما أُنزِلَ مِن قَبلِكَ وَبِالآخِرَةِ هُم يوقِنونَ
And those who believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, and are certain of the Hereafter.
أُولـٰئِكَ عَلىٰ هُدًى مِن رَبِّهِم ۖ وَأُولـٰئِكَ هُمُ المُفلِحونَ
These are guided by their Lord, and these are the successful.
إِنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا سَواءٌ عَلَيهِم أَأَنذَرتَهُم أَم لَم تُنذِرهُم لا يُؤمِنونَ
As for those who disbelieve, whether you warn them or not, it’s the same for them; they will not believe.
خَتَمَ اللَّهُ عَلىٰ قُلوبِهِم وَعَلىٰ سَمعِهِم ۖ وَعَلىٰ أَبصارِهِم غِشاوَةٌ ۖ وَلَهُم عَذابٌ عَظيمٌ
God sealed their hearts and hearing, and over their vision is a veil. They will have a severe punishment.
وَمِنَ النّاسِ مَن يَقولُ آمَنّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِاليَومِ الآخِرِ وَما هُم بِمُؤمِنينَ
Some people claim, “We believe in God and the Last Day,” yet they aren’t believers.
يُخادِعونَ اللَّهَ وَالَّذينَ آمَنوا وَما يَخدَعونَ إِلّا أَنفُسَهُم وَما يَشعُرونَ
They attempt to deceive God and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and they perceive not.
في قُلوبِهِم مَرَضٌ فَزادَهُمُ اللَّهُ مَرَضًا ۖ وَلَهُم عَذابٌ أَليمٌ بِما كانوا يَكذِبونَ
There is a disease in their hearts, and God has increased their disease. A severe punishment awaits them because of their lies.
وَإِذا قيلَ لَهُم لا تُفسِدوا فِي الأَرضِ قالوا إِنَّما نَحنُ مُصلِحونَ
When they’re told, “Don’t sow corruption on earth,” they reply, “We are only reformers.”
