قالوا لَبِثنا يَومًا أَو بَعضَ يَومٍ فَاسأَلِ العادّينَ

They will answer, “We stayed a day or part of a day; ask those who count.”

قالَ إِن لَبِثتُم إِلّا قَليلًا ۖ لَو أَنَّكُم كُنتُم تَعلَمونَ

He will say, “In fact, you stayed only a little—if only you had known.

أَفَحَسِبتُم أَنَّما خَلَقناكُم عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُم إِلَينا لا تُرجَعونَ

Did you think that We created you without purpose, and that you wouldn’t be returned to Us?”

فَتَعالَى اللَّهُ المَلِكُ الحَقُّ ۖ لا إِلـٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ رَبُّ العَرشِ الكَريمِ

So exalted is God, the True King. There is no deity except Him, the Lord of the Noble Throne.

وَمَن يَدعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلـٰهًا آخَرَ لا بُرهانَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّما حِسابُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لا يُفلِحُ الكافِرونَ

Whoever invokes, beside God, another god for which he has no proof, then his account rests with his Lord. The unbelievers won’t succeed.
