وَهُوَ الَّذي جَعَلَ اللَّيلَ وَالنَّهارَ خِلفَةً لِمَن أَرادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَو أَرادَ شُكورًا

He who made the night and the day follow each other—for anyone who wishes to reflect or express gratitude.

وَعِبادُ الرَّحمـٰنِ الَّذينَ يَمشونَ عَلَى الأَرضِ هَونًا وَإِذا خاطَبَهُمُ الجاهِلونَ قالوا سَلامًا

The servants of the Most Gracious are those who walk gently upon the earth, and when the ignorant address them, they respond with words of peace.

وَالَّذينَ يَبيتونَ لِرَبِّهِم سُجَّدًا وَقِيامًا

Those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing.

وَالَّذينَ يَقولونَ رَبَّنَا اصرِف عَنّا عَذابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذابَها كانَ غَرامًا

Those who pray, “Our Lord, avert from us the torment of Hell, for its suffering is persistent.

إِنَّها ساءَت مُستَقَرًّا وَمُقامًا

It is a dreadful dwelling and resting place.”

وَالَّذينَ لا يَدعونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلـٰهًا آخَرَ وَلا يَقتُلونَ النَّفسَ الَّتي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلّا بِالحَقِّ وَلا يَزنونَ ۚ وَمَن يَفعَل ذٰلِكَ يَلقَ أَثامًا

Those who don’t invoke any other god alongside God, nor take a life which God has sanctified—except in the pursuit of justice—nor commit adultery. Whoever does these will face penalties.

يُضاعَف لَهُ العَذابُ يَومَ القِيامَةِ وَيَخلُد فيهِ مُهانًا

The punishment will be doubled for him on Resurrection Day, and he will remain therein, humiliated.

إِلّا مَن تابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صالِحًا فَأُولـٰئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِم حَسَناتٍ ۗ وَكانَ اللَّهُ غَفورًا رَحيمًا

Except for those who repent, believe, and work righteousness—for them, God will change their bad things into good ones. God is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful.

وَمَن تابَ وَعَمِلَ صالِحًا فَإِنَّهُ يَتوبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَتابًا

Whoever repents and acts righteously has turned to God in repentance.

وَالَّذينَ لا يَشهَدونَ الزّورَ وَإِذا مَرّوا بِاللَّغوِ مَرّوا كِرامًا

Those who don’t bear false witness, and when they come across vain talk, they pass by with dignity.
