وَإِذا ذُكِّروا لا يَذكُرونَ

When reminded, they pay no heed.

وَإِذا رَأَوا آيَةً يَستَسخِرونَ

When they see a sign, they mock.

وَقالوا إِن هـٰذا إِلّا سِحرٌ مُبينٌ

And they say, “This is nothing but apparent magic.

أَإِذا مِتنا وَكُنّا تُرابًا وَعِظامًا أَإِنّا لَمَبعوثونَ

When we are dead and have become dust and bones, will we be resurrected?

أَوَآباؤُنَا الأَوَّلونَ

And our ancient ancestors as well?”

فَإِنَّما هِيَ زَجرَةٌ واحِدَةٌ فَإِذا هُم يَنظُرونَ

It will be just a single shout, and behold, they will be staring.

وَقالوا يا وَيلَنا هـٰذا يَومُ الدّينِ

They will exclaim, “Woe to us! This is Judgement Day.”

هـٰذا يَومُ الفَصلِ الَّذي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبونَ

“This is the Day of Separation, which you used to deny.”

احشُرُوا الَّذينَ ظَلَموا وَأَزواجَهُم وَما كانوا يَعبُدونَ

Round up those who did wrong, their partners, and what they used to worship.

مِن دونِ اللَّهِ فَاهدوهُم إِلىٰ صِراطِ الجَحيمِ

Apart from God, and guide them to the way to Hell.
