احشُرُوا الَّذينَ ظَلَموا وَأَزواجَهُم وَما كانوا يَعبُدونَ

Round up those who did wrong, their partners, and what they used to worship.

مِن دونِ اللَّهِ فَاهدوهُم إِلىٰ صِراطِ الجَحيمِ

Apart from God, and guide them to the way to Hell.

وَقِفوهُم ۖ إِنَّهُم مَسئولونَ

But stop them, for they are to be questioned.”

ما لَكُم لا تَناصَرونَ

What’s the matter with you that you don’t help each other?

بَل هُمُ اليَومَ مُستَسلِمونَ

But, on this day, they will be in submission.

قالوا إِنَّكُم كُنتُم تَأتونَنا عَنِ اليَمينِ

Some will say, “You used to come to us from the right.”

قالوا بَل لَم تَكونوا مُؤمِنينَ

The others will respond, “No, you yourselves were not believers.

وَما كانَ لَنا عَلَيكُم مِن سُلطانٍ ۖ بَل كُنتُم قَومًا طاغينَ

We had no authority over you; you were a transgressing people.

فَحَقَّ عَلَينا قَولُ رَبِّنا ۖ إِنّا لَذائِقونَ

So now the word of our Lord has come true against us. We are tasting it.

فَأَغوَيناكُم إِنّا كُنّا غاوينَ

We seduced you; we were seducers.”
