أُولـٰئِكَ لَهُم رِزقٌ مَعلومٌ

For them, there will be a known provision.

فَواكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُكرَمونَ

Fruits, and they will be honored.

في جَنّاتِ النَّعيمِ

In the Gardens of Delights.

عَلىٰ سُرُرٍ مُتَقابِلينَ

On thrones, facing one another.

يُطافُ عَلَيهِم بِكَأسٍ مِن مَعينٍ

A cup filled with a drink of pure pleasure will be passed among them.

لا فيها غَولٌ وَلا هُم عَنها يُنزَفونَ

Causing neither headache nor intoxication.

وَعِندَهُم قاصِراتُ الطَّرفِ عينٌ

And with them will be women restraining their glances.

كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيضٌ مَكنونٌ

As though they were protected pearls.

فَأَقبَلَ بَعضُهُم عَلىٰ بَعضٍ يَتَساءَلونَ

They will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

قالَ قائِلٌ مِنهُم إِنّي كانَ لي قَرينٌ

A speaker among them will say, “I had a close companion.
