بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمـٰنِ الرَّحيمِ وَالسَّماءِ ذاتِ البُروجِ

By the sky with the constellations.

وَاليَومِ المَوعودِ

And by the Promised Day.

قُتِلَ أَصحابُ الأُخدودِ

Perished were the companions of the ditch.

النّارِ ذاتِ الوَقودِ

With the intensely fueled fire.

إِذ هُم عَلَيها قُعودٌ

While they were seated around it.

وَهُم عَلىٰ ما يَفعَلونَ بِالمُؤمِنينَ شُهودٌ

Witnessing what they were doing to the believers.

وَما نَقَموا مِنهُم إِلّا أَن يُؤمِنوا بِاللَّهِ العَزيزِ الحَميدِ

They resented them simply because they believed in God, the Almighty, the Worthy of Praise.
