يَومَ يَقومُ النّاسُ لِرَبِّ العالَمينَ

The Day when all humanity will stand before the Lord of the universes?

كَلّا إِنَّ كِتابَ الفُجّارِ لَفي سِجّينٍ

No! The record of the wicked is in Sijjeen.

وَما أَدراكَ ما سِجّينٌ

And what will make you understand what Sijjeen is?

كِتابٌ مَرقومٌ

A numerical document.

وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ

Woe, on that Day, to the deniers.

وَما يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلّا كُلُّ مُعتَدٍ أَثيمٍ

None denies it except every sinful transgressor.

إِذا تُتلىٰ عَلَيهِ آياتُنا قالَ أَساطيرُ الأَوَّلينَ

When Our verses are conveyed to him, he says, “Legends of the ancients.”

كَلّا ۖ بَل ۜ رانَ عَلىٰ قُلوبِهِم ما كانوا يَكسِبونَ

Their hearts are rusted by what they’ve been earning.

كَلّا إِنَّهُم عَن رَبِّهِم يَومَئِذٍ لَمَحجوبونَ

Surely, on that Day, they will be veiled from their Lord.

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُم لَصالُو الجَحيمِ

Then, they’ll be thrust into the searing flames.
