فَسَوفَ يَدعو ثُبورًا

He will call for annihilation.

وَيَصلىٰ سَعيرًا

And will be thrust into a roaring inferno.

إِنَّهُ كانَ في أَهلِهِ مَسرورًا

He was once joyful among his family.

إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَن يَحورَ

He thought he would never return.

بَلىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كانَ بِهِ بَصيرًا

Yet, his Lord was watchful over him.

وَاللَّيلِ وَما وَسَقَ

And by the night, and all it encloses.

وَالقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ

And by the moon, when it becomes full.

لَتَركَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ

You will ascend from stage to stage.

فَما لَهُم لا يُؤمِنونَ

So why, then, do they not believe?

وَإِذا قُرِئَ عَلَيهِمُ القُرآنُ لا يَسجُدونَ ۩

And when the Quran is read to them, they don’t prostrate?
