بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمـٰنِ الرَّحيمِ سَبِّحِ اسمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعلَى

Praise the name of your Lord, the Most High.

الَّذي خَلَقَ فَسَوّىٰ

He who created and proportioned.

وَالَّذي قَدَّرَ فَهَدىٰ

He who determined and then guided.

وَالَّذي أَخرَجَ المَرعىٰ

And who brings out the pasture.

فَجَعَلَهُ غُثاءً أَحوىٰ

Then reduces it to withered stubble.

سَنُقرِئُكَ فَلا تَنسىٰ

We will make you read, so don’t forget.

إِلّا ما شاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعلَمُ الجَهرَ وَما يَخفىٰ

Except what God should will. He knows the manifest and the hidden.

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِليُسرىٰ

We will ease you towards ease.

فَذَكِّر إِن نَفَعَتِ الذِّكرىٰ

So, remind if the reminder benefits.

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخشىٰ

The reverent will be mindful.

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الأَشقَى

But the most wretched will avoid it.

الَّذي يَصلَى النّارَ الكُبرىٰ

Who will enter the Gigantic Fire.

ثُمَّ لا يَموتُ فيها وَلا يَحيىٰ

In which he will neither die nor live.

قَد أَفلَحَ مَن تَزَكّىٰ

Successful is he who purifies himself.

وَذَكَرَ اسمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلّىٰ

And mentions the name of his Lord, and prays.

بَل تُؤثِرونَ الحَياةَ الدُّنيا

But you prioritize the worldly life.

وَالآخِرَةُ خَيرٌ وَأَبقىٰ

But the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

إِنَّ هـٰذا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الأولىٰ

This is in the earlier Scriptures.

صُحُفِ إِبراهيمَ وَموسىٰ

The Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
