ما لَكُم كَيفَ تَحكُمونَ

What’s the matter with you? How do you judge?

أَفَلا تَذَكَّرونَ

Won’t you reflect?

أَم لَكُم سُلطانٌ مُبينٌ

Or do you have clear authority?

فَأتوا بِكِتابِكُم إِن كُنتُم صادِقينَ

Then produce your scripture, if you are truthful.

وَجَعَلوا بَينَهُ وَبَينَ الجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَد عَلِمَتِ الجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُم لَمُحضَرونَ

And they made up a relationship between Him and the jinn, yet the jinn know well that they will be summoned.

إِلّا عِبادَ اللَّهِ المُخلَصينَ

Except for God’s select servants.

فَإِنَّكُم وَما تَعبُدونَ

Neither you nor those you worship.

ما أَنتُم عَلَيهِ بِفاتِنينَ

Can’t seduce away from Him.

إِلّا مَن هُوَ صالِ الجَحيمِ

Except those destined for Hell’s embrace.

وَما مِنّا إِلّا لَهُ مَقامٌ مَعلومٌ

“There is none among us but has a known position.
