وَجَعَلوا بَينَهُ وَبَينَ الجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَد عَلِمَتِ الجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُم لَمُحضَرونَ

And they made up a relationship between Him and the jinn, yet the jinn know well that they will be summoned.

سُبحانَ اللَّهِ عَمّا يَصِفونَ

Exalted is God, above what they describe.

إِلّا عِبادَ اللَّهِ المُخلَصينَ

Except for God’s select servants.

فَإِنَّكُم وَما تَعبُدونَ

Neither you nor those you worship.

ما أَنتُم عَلَيهِ بِفاتِنينَ

Can’t seduce away from Him.

وَما مِنّا إِلّا لَهُ مَقامٌ مَعلومٌ

“There is none among us but has a known position.

وَإِنّا لَنَحنُ الصّافّونَ

We are those who stand in rows.

وَإِنّا لَنَحنُ المُسَبِّحونَ

And we are the praisers.”

وَإِن كانوا لَيَقولونَ

And they used to say.

لَو أَنَّ عِندَنا ذِكرًا مِنَ الأَوَّلينَ

“If we had a sermon from the ancients.
